Comments about Cardone Remanufactured Mass Air Flow Sensor:
Fit just like original and fixed the problem. I had to go to another store to but the tamper proof #20 torx to remove it. You might consider carrying a line of tamper proof torx as I would prefer to buy all of my supplies from your store.

Comments about Cardone Remanufactured Mass Air Flow Sensor:
Kept getting 0171 and 0174 codes, attempts to correct the issue by follow the Ford TSB for Windstar's (replacing port seals, isolator bolts, etc.). Codes were still there, the next logical fix was the MAF sensor or a vacuum leak. After shopping around, Advance Auto had a unit that was much cheaper[...]The sensor worked fine, save a few bucks, and picked it up at my local store. I'm happy with the purchase.

Q:
what is "high idle" means?...I've read this on frequent Q&A about mass air flow sensor...1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
With reference to your query on Cardone Remanufactured Mass Air Flow Sensor part# 74-50011, high idle is when the engine idle is unusually high powered, with a high rpm and an audible revving. The high idle issue seems to happen when the engine is initially started while cold; the idle doesn't come down (stays around 900 - 1000 rpm), even after driving for 20 or 30 min. Then, if you re-start the engine (while hot), the idle becomes normal (750-ish rpm). For more information, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our technicians would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
If I change the MAF sensor, and car still "chugging", what should I be considering in order of likelihood to trouble-shoot? Already used MAF cleaner twice. Works for about a day then chugs again, but not all the time.1 answer

Sorry without the presence of your vehicle we are unable to diagnose the problem nor provide you with the 100% answer. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
I install a rebuild mass air flow sensor, but the car it take too long to start is these part no good or is something else?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
There are numerous reasons for a delayed start or no start on a vehicle. A bad fuel filter, spark plugs improperly gapped, faulty battery etc can result in delayed start. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
On a 2000 Ford Focus can the mass air flow be put on by hand or do it have to be put on with a computer since everything on the car runs off a computer?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
First, you must figure out the location of MAF sensor. It should be located right on top of the air cleaner cover. Usually, you do NOT have to change it, only thoroughly clean it out with the appropriate auto chemical. While you are at it, locate and clean your idle air control valve, your throttle body and plate, and your PCV valve and hose. These items may be cleaned with the engine running, fully warmed. Use Gum-out spray. A bad MAF sensor is rare. These other items affect the way a MAF sensor performs.Q:

Do I need a special tool to remore this part from car mounting1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
As for removing the screws, they are a special kind of security torx, it is a 5-point hollow bit, harder to find. The "washer" on the screw is really a shoulder that is part of the screw, and you can grab the shoulder with needle nose vice-grips or even small channel locks and unscrew them that way, or you can cut a slot in them with hacksaw blade if you prefer or you can wait around while you try and find the 5-point tip.Q:
wave 2001 taurus wont start when weather is warm.have replaced fuel pump, coolant temp sensor, new battery, new coil.does anybody have this problem ?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, there is a chance that the MAF (mass air flow), coolant temperature or intake air temperature sensors could be faulty. And also check your spark plugs and starter. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
