There really isnt a procedure to tell if they are good or bad that I know of. The two ways that you can usually tell if they are bad are leaking from the master cylinder or when you are pushing the brake pedal down, the pedal sinks all the way to the floor. The are two indicators that the master cylinder is bad.A:
Aside from the previous answer, check to see if there is leakage on the rear of the master cyclinder where it mounts to the brake booster. If the rear seal is leaking, there will be seepage.Q:
