Road salt had eaten the old ones away. We installed these without removing the bed, afraid that the bed bolts would be just as rusty. Angle grinder got rid of the old brackets and rivet heads. Punch the old rivets out of the frame. Be sure to install the shackle bolt from the outboard side, with the nut inside the hanger,in case you ever need to remove the shackle again. Due to locknuts included with the hanger, it is far easier for two guys to install these.

Parts fit fine, but on a 02 Ranger the back of the truck leans to the passenger side about 1 inch. There should be an adjustment or specific left and right versions. It appears the left bracket is a good replacment bracket, the right bracket bolts on too high up on the frame. I might be able to drill new holes in the frame to correct the offset. I may just order the correct parts from Ford.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Shackle Hanger:
this a bit more difficult that the rear but, doable once you realize the original bushing can be removed with a drill and bit. also driver's side requires the dropping of gas tank and a moderate amount of grinding the rivets out (at least one 4" grinding wheel down to less than 3")

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Shackle Hanger:
This worked and fit perfectly. The hardware was a nice touch and saved a trip to the hardware store. The old bracket is riveted to the frame and requires hammering/drilling/grinding to remove but I would suggest this anytime replacing the shackle as they weaken together

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Shackle Hanger:
It was fairly easy to put on. The truck had a rusted one and had fell apart. After cleaning the frame it was really easy to put on. There was easy access and new bolts came with it so it went together easily.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Shackle Hanger:
Both OEM hangers rusted in half so that the leaf springs were pushing against the bed. Removed the bed and ground off the rivets with a right angle grinder. These hangers bolted right up without any modification.
Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Shackle Hanger:
good quality and great fit
Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Shackle Hanger:
There are specific left and right rear leaf spring hangers. The fella describing an inch difference obviously purchased two left side mounts or the sales person had no idea what they were doing.
As well..... this style mount only fits trucks from 86(?)-97. So its no wonder it wont fit a 2000 something ranger.

What is the best way to releive pressure from spring when replacing? Just don't know what to expect when removing old part.2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
For step by step instructions i recommend that you go to your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and purchase a repair manual.A:
Jack the truck up with a floor-jack (or sizzor-jack) at the frame. If the spring has been wedged into the bed of the truck, go to the top and beat it loose with a hammer to come out. When the truck is jacked up to the mounting height there is no pressure on the spring. Use the jack to adjust the height/level to align the bolt holes.
