Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Differential Cover:
Had read some reviews on other Dorman covers and they were rated to be of lighter weight material. This one for a Ford Ranger was actually made of thicker metal than the original equipment

out of the box and on the truck. fits perfectly and the enclosed gasket saves the expense of a separate purchase. does need to be cleaned, primered and painted first to maintain its integrity. cost difference between a gasket alone and the cover and gasket combination makes this a no brainer. i replace every two years with a gear oil change due to extreme use pulling a fifth wheel trailer. took longer to clean and paint than to install. will replace evry time and not worry about it.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Differential Cover:
I BOUGHT THIS COVER TO REPLACE MY RUSTY ONE. IT WAS SAID TO HAVE RUST INHIBITORS AND IT LOOKED LIKE GALVANIZED STEEL. AFTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS THIS COVER WAS ORANGE WITH RUST AND LOOKS TERRIBLE FROM BEHIND. I SUGGEST PAINTING THE COVER WITH A GOOD EPOXY COATING BEFORE INSTALLATION OR BETTER YET, PURCHASE A CHROME UNIT.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Rear Differential Cover:
You can tell just by looking at your differential cover if this fits your truck's rear end, but don't expect to get any bolts in the box; I checked several, and they simply aren't included.
I'm not sure why the online description shows and mentions a corrosion resistant coating either, because this cover is just made of plain steel, and will surely rust faster than the one you're replacing did if you live where trucks rust.
So, yeah, it's a rear differential cover for Ford 8.8" 10 bolt pumpkins, but I just wanted to let everyone know that it has NO BOLTS and NO COATING. It's does have the little magnet inside for picking up metal shavings, but it's plain silvery steel colored, not the phosphate coating brown you see in the picture. I hope it helps.

Used on my 2000 Ford Ranger, the whole undercarriage is a rusty mess..I couldnt even remove the rear diff fill plug because it was rusted fast,so my brother & I drilled a whole in the diff cover & installed one..It worked great & your only adding 5 pints of fluid....
