The delivered cap was different than the one that is pictured in the online facility. Consequently, I had to RETURN to the store in order to obtain a refund.

For some reason, the radiator on a 5 speed manual transmission is different than the automatic. As a result, this cap WILL NOT fit a car with a manual transmission. This cap has a center post which is too tall to allow it to close on the radiator.
This is an obscure fact which even most parts sales associates do not know. Also the stores for some reason don't carry the cap for a 5 speed... only the automatic transmission.
I had to go to an import auto parts place to find a cap which would work on a 5 speed. I'm sure this cap works fine on an automatic, but just be aware that if you own a 5 speed Mazda protege, you will not be able to use this radiator cap.

No, I am sorry. This Stant Radiator Cap with Part No. 10227 does not fit a Ready-Rad Radiator with Part No. 433700. Instead please check the Stant Radiator Cap Lev-R-Vent with Part No. 10329 which would be the ideal part for your application.Answered on 5/4/2012 by John the Car-Doc from AAP
