The Rack and Pinion gear set is a simple mechanism that enables you to efficiently steer your car. You’ll find the pinion gear at the end of the steering shaft. Once the steering wheel turns, this gear spins and moves the rack, which turns the wheels. The shafts on which the rack and pinion are attached meet OEM specifications; premium-quality bearings help to deliver a smoother steering experience. Valve housing has polished micro-finish sleeving for durability. OEM-grade O-rings and seals meet required specifications. Factory computer-tested.

The first one they sold me was a Cardone, not a Fenco. It leaked out the top seal within the first 300 miles. I called them and they ordered me another one. The new one was actually a Fenco. The saleman told me that they quit dealing with Cardone because they had problems with them. I installed the Fenco and haven't had any problems so far.

I installed this rack and pinion back in 2010 and the drivers side inner tie rod is already bad and needs to be replaced before a shop will align my 2000 ford taurus!! I would spend the extra money and buy new for this part because it deals with the steering of the car!!

This part only fits 2000 Ford Taurus's that have alloy rims! If you have steel rims this will make your steering rim crooked and no one will align it for you!!![...]
