The oil dispenses nicely under pressure, in case you forgot to add it before you pulled a vacuum on the system. HOWEVER, there is really only 1 ounce of oil (equivalent to about 30cc's), not 3 ounces as the description would lead you to believe. Probably would do better to buy the 8 ounce can, but you also get more propellant, so I don't know how much real oil is in the 8 ounce can either. I use a very short hose and inverted the can, installed into the Low side with the system running to get the last drop of oil.

ID web site doesn't specify, but three ounces usually means one ounce R-134a pushing two ounces of oil. Lubricant is usually a percentage of the refrigerant charge as the refrigerant carries the lubricant through the compressor. This is why it is important not to have too much or too little oil in the system. It's easy to put in and hard to get out as it distributes throughout the system. Liquids are not compressible and displace volume for refrigerant. Excess oil can cause other problems. Normally, oil is only added when you've had a rapid loss of refrigerant (blown hose) or are changing an oil bearing component (condenser, accumulator, receiver drier, evaporator(!), compressor).
