Q:
I'm replaceing my compressor, dryer & condenser& suction/discharge line.Along with flushing out the evaparator. The vehicle is a 97 dodge 1500 5.9l with 134 refigerant it calls for pag 20 oil on the OEM sticker. Is the PAG 100 going to OK for my system?
I have a 98' BMW 750il. My A/C compressor stop rotating on me yesterday and started again,It did cause some damage to the belt. So I replaced the belt and it was fine, But when I press the A/C button. The compressor rotated for about five min then stop again cause the belt to stop too. I imediatly turn the car off. The freon is full and it was blowing cold. I asked my machanic is the compressor bad? He replied the you unit could be low on oil. What are you thoughs? Thanks in Advance:)
If you have R134a freon then you need to use PAG oil, if the A/C freon is R12 you need to use Mineral oil. And if you retrofitted a system then you need to use ester oil.
