Used this to flush my old brake fluid out and it worked good. I then used Valvoline Dot 3 & 4 synthetic brake fluid to fill the system. But this could work just the same and fill your system but my car asked for Dot 4 and that's what I did. If they made Dot 4 brake fluid of this brand I would have used that.

All Brake Fluid is synthetic. Do not mix DOT ratings. Do not mix DOT 5 with DOT 3 or DOT 4. DOT 5 is "Silicone" and it will not mix with the alcohol based DOT 3 or 4. The system will need to be completely flushed prior to changing fluid types. I have an Astro Chevy conversion van. My brakes have been changing in that I have to push the pedal down a lot further to get them to grab. I noticed the brake fluid reservoir is low and that it takes DOT 3 fluid. Do I just pour it in like filling up the windshield fluid? There is a minimum level mark on the outside of the container.
