Of course the power window broke just before a rain storm.
In a hurry I ran to Advance Auto for a replacement, Excellent, they had one in stock. After watching a short You Tube vid on how to replace it I began tackleing the job. The hardest part was getting the door panel off without breaking the plastic clips.
Within minutes the old was out and the new was installed. Heck I didn't even cut my finger on anything. Unit pluged in for a quick test and worked perfectly. The rain came but just couldn't get my seat wet.

This went in very easy. I have never changed a regulator before I bought this one. I watched a youtube video and thats all it took.

This was the 3rd window regulator I have replaced. Luckily, Dorman has a lifetime warranty on the part. Item is easy to install and fits just like the original equipment.

It was supposed to be a direct fit that was close but the factory screws go into plastic for the motor and the replacement requires a metric screw instead and they were not provided in the package.

I had to replace both R & L front items on my Jeep Cherokee. I think these have a weak cable anchor point from the OEM design. This replacement has an improved piece, but I would have made it even stronger.
One thing is, the motor & reduction gear case were intact on my two old units after 8 years. When you buy these units you replace the whole assembly. It would be too cumbersome to try to replace just the motor/ gear unit the way this item is designed from factory, so these nice 12 V motors just get wasted. It would be good if the aftermarket guys would figure out a way to recycle/reuse them.

After paying the dealer to swap the passenger side motor and regulator a few years ago, I decided to give the driver side a try when it broke. Man am I glad I did!!
