I was getting depressed after getting an estimate of $392 from the dealer to have the window motor replaced. After researching on-line, I found this Dorman Regulator assembly at Advance and could be easily replaced without having to worry about realigning track cables and synchronizing the window operation. As a complete unit for under $97, it easily replaces the original unit with no worry of error. It took me about 50 minutes from start to finish and the unit works smoothly and effortlessly. Feels good to save almost $300 by doing it yourself.

Installed on a 2001 Silverado in Feb '08. A few months ago, passenger window will no longer lift without help. Main page of window regulators for this site says "Limited Lifetime Warranty", but nowhere else says this, and my receipt says "30 day replacement if defective".

I watched a youtube video of changing out the motor, ordered one from Advanced Auto, picked it up the next day and installed it in 30 minutes. It was nice to be able to do this myself. I've paid $300-400 several times to replace these motors and now I know how to do it. There is no wizard behind the curtain any longer..!

I installed this about 18 months ago, now I get to do it again. The cable rusted and broke. Make sure you put some type of grease on the cable to keep it from rusting. Not sure if I will buy one from Advance or not.

I am dissapointed in Dorman. I usually dont have a problem with their products, but this window regulator is horrible. The motor is not strong enough to lift the window if you have rubber in great shape. For a window not to leak it has to be snug. Compairing the origional to the dorman the difference in the size of the motor is painfully obvious. I would recommed buying a different brand
