In the day of being able to cross matching auto parts I can not belive i was givin this power steering cooler. It was not even close to my cooler that I was changeing out. I called ahead and made sure it was correct part and in stock. I also paid online because my wife was picking it up because my truck a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 had a power steering leak in the cooler (a smaller version of a radiator). I was worried because of the low price but was told by the parts sales person it was the right and he new of people that used this part and it was correct. Well it was 25% of the size and looked like it was for a Harley O wait is was to small for that also. Im 50 years old and Im a crane mechanic , and think a high school kid could see bit was not the OEM cooler and the price was low because it was not correct for a replacement. This happednt on a sunday and i them was stuck waiting for a on line correct part. I was assured it was for my truck!

I needed at power steering cooler and this was the only thing in stock. Use only if you have to and order a real replacement. There was no really good way to mount it.

Comments about Imperial Power Steering Oil Cooler:
Though the cooler is only half the size of the original one I'll assume it's capable. Being aluminum I should not have to replace it ever again.

Comments about Imperial Power Steering Oil Cooler:
This was far from an exact fit. It was much faster and easier to buy the replacement part from the GM dealer for $100. I brought this back.

Comments about Imperial Power Steering Oil Cooler:
I have a 1997 Toyota Tacoma. One of the lower power steering return lines (metal line) rusted and started leaking. Local repair shop called Toyota who wanted $300 plus labor to fix. I ordered this kit for [$] from Advanced Auto Parts. Dropped the skid plate to gain access to the lines. Cut and flanged the lines and installed this cooler in front of a/c radiator. Took about an hour and I was back up and running. This kit saved me $300 and now I don't have to worry about original power sterring lines rusting anymore. The kit can be installed either vertically or horizontally and comes with a the needed hardware to mount it.

A:
With reference to your inquiry on the Imperial Power Steering Oil Cooler - Part No. 241009 I assume there is too much of back pressure in the hose that leads to the reservoir and other lines. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.Q:

f-250 turbo diesel does it matter what size power steering cooler you put on ??1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Power steering coolers are not always necessary, if you are running stock tires and not doing lots of hard driving than you should be fine but if you start stressing the system i.e. hydro boost, big tires, 4 wheeling, rock crawling, mudding or racing then you want to run a cooler. This Imperial Power Steering Oil Cooler (Part No. 241009) will fit vehicles with 3/8" I.D. power steering return hose. So you can use this part in your F-250 Turbo Diesel vehicle.Q:

How do I install the cooler for a 04 Dodge Ram 1500?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
First you will need to mount the cooler. Then run your return line from the rack and pinion assembly to the cooler. Then have another tube running from the other end of the cooler back to the pump/reservior. Be sure that when you mount the cooler, you mount it in a place that will allow air to pass through it.A:
First buy a igloo cooler & some ice - then purchase the beer. Install cooler & beer in bed of the truck with bunggie cord.
