I'm pleased with the way everything worked so easily. From previous comments I expected some installation hassles; not so in my case. Bolt on, ( change fuel line) and start 'er up.Eezy Peezy!

Comments about Edelbrock Performer Series Carb:
This carb is a great "bolt on and go" product. It took minimal tools, and very minor tweaking to get the vehicle up and running in no time.

Comments about Edelbrock Performer Series Carb:
I put a 1405 on my 69 Chevelle 350 c.i. 255 horse motor. I had to buy a 50.00 adapter kit to install it where the quadrajet was, straight bore carb. to spread bore manifold. Also had to cut stock fuel line and buy a kit to hook the filter and fuel line to the new carb. I also purchased a 14 x 3" air cleaner to feed air to it. The stock air cleaner held too much air back. Vacuum to the transmission was also an issue. The mounting adapter did not have a pre-drilled port. Edelbrock suggested you drill your own port and install the proper fitting. I ended up splitting the timed vacuum port on the carb between the tranny and vacuum advance to the distributor.
It was not bolt on and go. It took several days at a few hours a day, to figure out all the parts needed and to get all the plumbing done.
That is the bad.
The good: The truck I put this motor in runs great. When I put my foot in it, the motor will set you back in the seat. The front lifts and it keep pulling. No hesitation, no spitting or sputtering, just power. I can't stay on it long at all because it has that much power that speeds get unsafe quick.
I like it that much that I am currently gathering all the parts I will need to put a 1405 on another truck I have. It is a tired 79 350. I hope to increase it's power too. It is only about a 175 horse motor so I am not expecting the power gain I got from the 69 motor.
When that one is complete, I will post my results on that one as well.

Getting a new cam can provide your vehicle with more power but with this carburetor, you should not need a new cam. The only thing I can see that you may need is an adapter plate to fit which ever intake manifold you have on your vehicle right now.
