I put this kit on my '02 GMC Sierra 4.8L. It went on in 45 minutes at a casual pace, and looks very nice underhood. There is a noticeable intake growl with the throttle wide open, and I can feel a power increase above 4500 rpm. The parts look like quality, as does the packaging.

Performance intakes can't get any better for the price, and this is exactly what my '03 Yukon XL needed to help give it some new life!
Installation is stupid-simple. I'm not much of an "under the hood" guy, and I had everything put together within a couple hours. The only thing that really took any effort was fitting the rubber seal onto the adapter. (It required some "delicate" persuasion techniques.)
I've had it on for about 1,000 miles so far with a noticeable difference in power and a bit of a boost to fuel economy.
Other benefits:
1. Aesthetically pleasing.
2. Adds a satisfying growl to your engine.

I had never heard of Spectre and this was my first purchase of a product from their company and i will say that the quality of parts is great. The intake kit was incredibly easy to use, fit perfectly and significantly imporved HP and MPG. After 2-3 fillups at the pump i averaged an increase of 1.5mpg under normal driving conditions to inclued highway and city traffic. I also had it dyno'd to see the hard # results and 11hp increase between the 3000-5500rpm range.I coupled this CAI kit with flowmaster exhaust on my 04 Tahoe and it provides a punch when you press down on the throttle.

The unit was easy to install. Directions are simple and there were a couple videos online. My 12 year old and I installed it in 20 minutes taking our time. I am not a professional mechanic, just a tinkerer.
The filter that comes with the unit was red in color and pre-oiled which was a nice touch. The only confusing part of the install in my Chevy 2002 1500 5.3 was getting the stock box out. You actually do not have to remove any of the screw and clips, it literally just slides out.
The quality of the aluminum and the mounting supplies was excellent.

Saw the product in the store, too bad that your retail locations do not offer the same price as online, had to go back home to buy on line, almost changed my mind. It was easy to install and looks good and the priceing is a lot more reasonble than other brands. I have had it now about two weeks and yes I had a catback system installed but i really do not notice a increase in hp or torque. By the way I installed it on a 2000 silverrado LT 5.3l Z71. Overall i am satisfied,but it is more of eye candy for under the hood than a performance upgrade.

Put this air intake on GMC truck, and the truck runs smoother, idles better, more horsepower, better throttle response, it also makes a cool whistle sound when pressing gas, better gas mileage. This kit comes with every thing right out of the box to install. I took me about 45 mins. to install. and It looks great under the hood. the best part for this the price was good, you get a soild metal tube with big filter for under a hundred 150 dollars. I would recommend this product to anybody. going to put more on other cars. thanks

With reference to your inquiry on the difference between the Spectre Performance Polished Aluminum V8 Air Intake Kit - Part No. 9900 and K&N Performance Intake Kit - Part No. 57-3021-1 is the former is made of aluminum tube material while the latter is made of superior high-density polyethylene. Also K&N replacement air filters and air intake systems have a superior cumulative or Full Life filtration efficiency of between 96% and 99% compared to Spectre filters and intake kits. The instructions are fairly easy to understand. Myself and a friend installed this kit in 45 minutes, and we were not in a hurry at all.
