First thing I noticed, it was painted! And the inlet was shiney and machined - Nice touch! Then, comparing the wieght of the old HD waterpump to this one and it was noticable, it weighed about a pound more at least.
I'm happy with the pump initially - we'll see how it goes.
1995 S10/Chevy Blazer: 3:73 with Locked rear, Over built trans, Ignition and intake work, Magnaflow exhaust, Manual NP231 T-Case and what not!

Defective waterpump casting and shaft
I bought three of these pumps and each one the Shaft has broken due to poor tempering. Not recomended for truck or heavy work statist or for viechicals with stanard transmissions.

Easy on, good quality.
Doesn't come with studs for fan mount but using the old ones only added a.few minutes to the install.

this pump works as it was designed to do - the only problem i had was taking the old one off - one of the bolts was hard to get to becsuse of the air conditioner compressor - after i removed the air conditioner compressor it was a lot easier to get to and the new one went right on - it would be a great time to change all the water hoses at this time as it could save you a lot of trouble later on and do not forget to add new anti-freeze -i do not drive a lot but i like to keep my vehicle in good condition - advance auto parts have a good record for the lifetime part warranty on a lot of their products

This water pump fit and operates as good as an OEM water pump. I like the fact that it is painted black to help prevent rusting, plus it kind of dresses it up a little bit. Gasket surfaces are machined to help seal gaskets from leaking. This part is a real bargain for the money.
