Check Vehicle Fit

The PCV valve is one half of the crankcase ventilation system - the other half is the breather filter. The breather flows clean air into the crankcase through a hose on your air filter and the PCV valve lets dirty air and crankcase gases out. These dirty gases and air get sent through the engine to be re-burned for clean emissions. An old PCV valve can cause rough engine idle, blown oil seals, fouled air filter and fuel system, fumes in the passenger compartment, excessive engine part wear, and shorter oil life. Although the PCV is not a pollution control valve, a worn out PCV valve can contribute to air pollution. So, it’s important to change your PCV valve for the safety of your vehicle - and the environment!

                Comments about Purolator PCV Valve:

Undoubtedly the simplest part to replace on my engine. No tools needed. Just pull the old one out of the rubber seat, pull off the air line, install new valve. 10 second job. Replaced an older Purolator that had been on for about 75,000 miles. Old one was still OK but had some gunk on it. Part was to inexpensive to clean old one so just dropped in a new one. No problems. I reserve 5 stars for parts that exceed all my expectations. Mechanically, this vavle is fine, but its hard to get excited about something so simple; thats why 4 stars.

Good little valve, although the valve makes alot noise during engine operation. Other than that, great product.

The PCV valve on your Chevy Tahoe should be located on the top of the motor on the driver’s side and it has a hose on the top of it.

                      A:

The PCV valve should be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

It is located near the oil filter on back of the engine. It is connected to a black box on right above the filter. There is a hose that descends into the black box. Disconnect the hose with a pair of pliers. Your pcv valve is located at the bottom of the hose.
