This filter should have acarbon prefilter or add impregnation to eliminate outside odors.it is not offered at the store level so the consumer is stuck buying a basic filter or waiting for a better one to be ordered. The price is about the same and would rather see store stock a quality product rather than concern themselves with their bottom line profits.Fram makes a superior product at the same price in other stores.i replaced this one after one week. Too bad i wasted money.

Comments about Purolator Panel Type Cabin Air Filter:

I bought the Purolator because the compatible Denso isn't stocked in the store. This filter fits the air box very poorly. The one that it replaced had a foam gasket all around for a good fit and no chance of bypass. This has no gasket and has about 1/4" all around. The filter can move around in the air box and it doesn't give me confidence that this is the right one for my car. Look someplace other than Purolator for a good Impala air filter. Disappointing for a premium filter at a high price.

The filter is located below the windshield, passenger side. The black plastic cover must be removed to access the filter. You simply raise the hood and remove 3 plastic clips, and the washer hose from it's holders. This will allow you to remove the plastic cover over the filter.

It should be under the plastic piece that is under the hood at the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side. Or is is behind the glovebox.
