My only con is that they're playing the "Honey I shrank the filter" game. Same price for a slightly smaller filter, but I still recommend this one over a Fram any day.

This Ford replacement oil filter is OK to use but my biggest complaint is it was 1-2 inches shorter that the old Fram oil filter that I took off. Does the extra length have an effect on the oil cleaning capacity? I don't know. I will say this though, for a dollar more a orange Fram filter that is sold at advanced is a better choice that an original oil filter. The Fram is orange for be it may but also has a black rubber gripper made right on the filter. This makes for remoavl and installation so much easier. Plus you get the extra 1-2 inches of more oil filtering capacity. Original equipment parts may not be better in all circumstances.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Oil Filter:
Motorcraft "S" series filters offer all the features of much more expensive filters at a value price. We don't have a Ford but both our Chrysler products get Motorcrafts when it's time for an oil change. The FL-400S is also the only filter that stopped start up rattle in my Jeep when winter temps hit, and I tried a lot of other "premium" filters first. A+ Motorcraft!

Been using this brand of oil filter on my Mustang since I bought it. Now has over 125,000 miles. Have never had any issues with this filter. Car is still running strong.
