Comments about BWD Oil Pressure Switch:
I was ready to scrap my Jeep 4.0 L with 216k miles, however, the low oil pressure indication on my dash oil gauge was fully rectified by installing a replacement oil pressure sender.

Great OEM replacement part and easy to replace on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Will require a 1 1/16" deep socket. Replaced part and oil pressure gauge was back in service, no more worries?

Changed the oil in my jeep one day and the next the gauge was pegged at 80psi. Replaced the switch in about 10 mins and cranked it up and the gauge read normal. Easy Fix.

Comments about BWD Oil Pressure Switch:
I put this switch in, but the oil pressure still showed low (light on) when engine is hot and idling. No any label on this switch which makes me wonder the quality. My older switch has label (product # and maker). Maybe spray off the old one (1yr), it might still work. Anyway, the low oil pressure may be due to some other reason. I will likely get the dealer parts to see if it is working before I do bigger job on the engine. Also a mechanical gauge will be applied.

My oil pressure gauge went from 40 psi to 80 psi overnight. After cleaning and checking the connector I decided to replace the sending unit. Problem solved.

Q:
oil pressure guage stays at 80 , do I need a new switch1 answer

A:
If your oil pressure is remaining that high, I would suggest having it checked with a manual pressure gauge to see if the reading is accurate. It sounds to me as if you might have a bad oil sending unit. If the oil pressure sending unit is good, check the oil pressure relief valve. It may be stuck closed resulting in high pressure reading.Q:

I came to a stoplight and noticed my check gauges light was on. I then noticed my oil pressure gauge was a 0 when I started driving it went back up to normal. It continued to do this so i shut it down and an hour later i checked it again and it worked fine. Any one have this issue before. 99 jeep grand cherokee laredo, 4.02 answers
