Gasket seemed to be made of good quality materials. There are metal sleeves in each of the bolt holes. It is not easy to install. The rear of the gasket where it goes into the bearing is to wide to fit into the bearing channel. I installed it with the concern that it would not seal. After I finished the install and tightened it down it never leaked. I wouuld have prefered a gasket, like the OEM gasket that went into the channel in the rear bearing so I would not have had to hope it worked. I have had no leaks.

The one piece gasket is usually a good idea but in this case Felpro has made this gasket too big and it does not fit. When trying to install the gasket and pan assembly the gasket would buldge out at the rear and it is almost impossible to tell untill you put in new oil and it ends up on the floor. Use the other mutiple piece gasket kit (which is factory design) and get a small tube of gasket maker and your oil pan gasket job will go much smoother. Sorry Felpro but, BALL DROPPED!

This is my first experience with a "dry" oil pan gasket, and will be my last. This is probably a great alternative IF you have an engine on the stand, but trying to install this on an AMC 258 from under the vehicle trying to keep the rigid gasket in place while trying to dodge the exhaust, suspension and cooler lines made it impossible (for me at least) to install without compromising the silicone sealer and clean surfaces. Oil pan gasket replacement is a messy, but EASY repair. This adds unnecessary complexity and difficulty to the job.
Get the OEM style replacement.
