This stuff is awesome, the people who dont buy it are not. It is half new valvoline oil and half re-refined used oil. I trust that valvoline is using its best methods to clean out all the metal, sludge, anti freeze, water, and god knows what that is in used oil. It comes out just as clear and golden as any other dino or synthetic oil I have ever used. Unfortunately saving the planet 2.5 quarts at a time isn't any cheaper then using this planets precious resources, so many people shy away from the recycled product and opt for the new. This has led to valvoline having to basically give this stuff away with $20 rebates in the hopes that people will at least try it and see that it is not a inferior oil after all and hopefully buy it next time again & again. My 07 Dodge Charger 3.5 v6 runs very well with this oil 10w30 & 5w30 weight. The first time I used NextGen I ran 6qts for 3000 miles and was pleased with the results, every time since then I run the 5qt jug of NextGen and 1qt of a top grade (penzoil, castrol, or valvoline) synthethic so that I can extend my OCI to 5000 miles. Due to lack of sales AAP has stopped selling the 5w20 weight NextGen that my 07 Ram truck 5.7 hemi takes, so that is unfortunate that I must find it elsewhere. I will end with the fact that Roush Fenway Racing uses NextGen in all their Nascar cars, the other teams may advertise what brand they use but they don't say whether its conventional, full synthethic, or blended that actually gets put in the car or truck, but since NextGen is a conventional only oil and Nascar cars take 5 gallons of oil I think that shows a huge level of trust in this product. Please try this oil, you will like it.

Okay but pricey
Only bought it because of the rebate. Which was more problems than it was worth. Too pricey

Comments about Valvoline NextGen NextGen 10W-30 Conventional Motor Oil (5 Plus Quarts Jug):
Hard to believe this oil is recycled oil when looking to see how clear it is but the stuff works great. Read a few articles that say that using oil like this is actually better for your car or truck rather than using new stuff. Not really sure but until someone proves me different, I'll be using the stuff for a while to come.
They make two different versions of the oil as one is nextgen and the other is maxlife nextgen or something like that. This one has a 150,000 mile guarantee and the other is guaranteed to 225,000 miles for your higher mileage cars!

I bought the oil thinking that with the rebate it cost me nothing. Then I realized it 50% recycled.
The oil container takes up space in my garage.
