I would recommend this to anyone who is replacing the timing belt. It is routine maintenance if the old water pump is more than eight years old in my opinion. The most difficult part of installation was removing the old gasket material from the mounting surface on the engine, but it still wasn't that bad. Overall, it was an easy afternoon project installing this water pump.

The water pump is fine, but the gaskets and o rings that ship with the pump are lacking. The Toyota water pump housing to block o ring has tabs that hold it in place while you're reattaching the housing. This pump comes with a standard o ring that falls out and makes life quite difficult. Save time and buy the Toyota o rings, they're just as cheap and will stay in place, ensuring a positive seal.

This ToughOne or GMB New Water Pump - part# 170-1770 has limited life time replacement as warranty. This warranty is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase or any longer warranty period that may be printed on your original sales receipt. In addition, you must be the original purchaser of the part and still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty cannot be transferred to anyone at any time. Replacement parts are warranted for 90 days from the date of exchange or the remainder of the warranty period, whichever is longer. Warranty periods may vary from part to part.
