New, not rebuilt. Exact fit/replacement. Only thing to watch are the CV boots. The OEM unit had 7-8 bellows on each boot. This replacement only has 3 on each boot. During installation the boots dimpled as they were handled. I had to work with each one for a few minutes to get the indentions out and back to the normal bellows shape. They may have done this on their own but I didn't want to take a chance. Otherwise AOK. Good warranty at 3 years VS 1 year for the rebuilt axles.

What junk! I have replaced several drive shafts in several front wheel drive cars, so I am no rookie. After going through the trouble of replacing the axle in my teenage son's car, the new one bound up in a week and was much worse than the one I took out. Seriously, it was dangerous. Do not buy this! I would have given no stars if it would have let me.

Comments about GSP New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:
Bought this part on April 13th, 2013. Replaced part on passenger side the next day, and by today, the 21st, I hear lots of clicking coming from that side when turning. In my opinion, this is junk and I will be replacing it with something else. Very upset as I'm going to be spending another day taking this thing out.

Installed this CV axle in April and the boot started shooting grease all over come September. Now it looks to be starting to run dry and makes noise when making left turns. I will be returning it and looking for a better manufacturer than GSP.

The axle shafts at Advanced Auto are very durable and the boots also seam to be very rigid which in my opinion is the part that needs to be the most durable. the warranty is also a great sellingpoint in my eyes.
Keep up the great work Advanced Auto!

Replaced axle 2000 Buick Century 3.1. Vibration started getting severe so I removed axle and reinstalled old axle. Vibration gone. Went to manufacture web-site looked up part, part does not fit 2000 buick century 3.1. Note it will install but is shorter which causes the vibration and will eventually fail.Look up part on manufacture web site before buying.

I replaced the Driver side CV axle on my 2000 Chevy venture with this one. I was sure it was done correctly but the end that inserts into the tramsition come out about 1 to 2 inches while dirving it and it lost all the trans fluid.... i put / pushed the axle back in and refilled the trans fluid but its leaking. Just like when I 1st put it in, I checked by tugging on it to make sure the retaining clip was clicked in. My mechanic says I should replace the axle again and the seal..... Does the seal come with this part or need to be purchased seperately? also, since the axle came out... should I take it back out and get it exchanged.... sounds like the retaining clip is faulty if it was able to come back out.1 answer

For help with your project, I recommend getting a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. It should be able to help you with detailed instructions on how to do many things.A:
put a small crow bar type bar with a curved end between the trans and back of cv shaft. Put pressure against the bar and give ot a bit of a whack with your hand ( not a hammer)it will just pop off. Try to brace the bar against a beefy part of trans. To put back on just line up splines and give it a sharp push and it pops back on.Q:
there are two different axle ratios available for this car, the spline are different on each one. Which does this fit? code f83 3.05 or code fq3 2.862 answers
