I had to replace both CV Axles on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. This product was an exact fit with no issues to complain about. The product arrived a day ahead of schedule and was packaged in a durable container. I would buy this product again if the need ever arises. I have a high standard that they absolutly met/exceeded. I would recommend this product to any one contemplating rebuilding thier CV Joint. This took about 15 minutes per side to install. It was pre - greased and sealed I barely got my hands dirty during the installation.

Had a cut in old cv boot. Decided to change the whole cv half shaft instead of replacing the boot due to the little price difference. Having 115,00 miles on the old cv joint and making it easier to replace the entire half shaft than just the boot, I went this route. Part fit perfect but doesn't appear to be as well built as the oem. By the time the next replacement hopefully the truck will be gone with 195,00 miles.

For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

The previous answer was not correct. The 10142 is for 6 lug wheel trucks (1500) and the 10240 is for 8 lug wheel trucks (2500). Read the specs carefully.

NCV10142: for the left or right front. AWD. w/o Crew Cab
NCV10240: for the left or right front. AWD. Crew cab.

There is basically a difference in design.
