This paste works great at totally sealing an exhaust connection. Cures fast and stays pliable. Basically, this is a high temp silicon sealant.

Good for a temporary fix to small leaks but not a good permanant repair. Heat and pressure will eventually cause product failure.

    Work likw a charm

Comments about Permatex Muffler & Tailpipe Sealer:

The wifes Bravada had a rotted out spot on top of muffler...cut me a piece of tin an little bigger than hole and gobbed a bunch of this product on the piece of tin I cut then put it over hole....grounded clean with a air tool wire brush of course then gobbed a bunch of this all around the seams of the patch, let dry for 3-4 hours and no more exhaust leak.

    Good Stuff HIGHLy recommend.

    Stuff works like a charm.

This is a good product to seal small gaps when installing new or used exhaust systems. Helps to seal that pesky leak without having to tighten the clamps to crushing capacity or welding the seams.

Read the reviews, which I'm appreciative of. Tried first that bandage stuff, sucks but this stuff dries quick. I recommend using a latex glove to put it on. I had a ton of holes and cracks, used 3 tubes and now I'm good as new.

I have a spot where someone tried to cut my catalyic converter off at the flange and there is exhaust escaping through the crack inbetween the flanges where a gasket would be, it was welded and at the top it still escapes, will this stuff fix it? does it have to be mixed with anything or does it come right out the tube and seal?
