Comments about Monroe Max-Air Air Shock Absorber:
These are an easy install on a Lesabre. No need for anything else. Steps: (1) Do one wheel at a time. Loosen lugs, jack up at pinch point, remove lugs & wheel. (2) Slap another jack or stand under suspension arm of the spring [to prevent from dropping down when you remove shock.] (3) Loosen clip on small air hose and remove hose (4) Loosen 2 bottom screws on shock. [Note: There are 2 'clip nuts' on the bottom of old shock you need to remove and retain for new shock.] (5) Go in trunk and remove carpet retaining 'plastic press nut' that holds the cargo net and the carpet in place...unscrew and pull. Peel back carpet. (6) Remove the rubber dirt guard cup over the top of the top screws of the shock (7) Remove all 3 nuts on the top and then remove whole shock. (8) Pull off the old shock the top rubber piece and use on new shock. (9) On the new shock are 2 cups and a nut. Take the bigger cup and insert over the new shock stud so cupped portion points away from shock. Place on top of that the old shock rubber piece. (10) Slip on the bottom tangs of the shock the old 'clip nuts' (11) Re-install shock...bottom first....just get screws started. (12) You'll probably have to pull up on the shock to insert the top assembly thru the hole...so sometimes best to have a friend go inside trunk and put the nuts on while the bottom guy is holding the shock up and thru the trunk hole. (13) Don't forget that on the center nut of the top that the SMALL new cup is attached with the cupped portion pointing down and then the nut to secure. (14) Tighten all to around 18 foot pounds. (15) Put back on the air hose and the clip. GET THE CLIP CORRECT--you should be able to lightly tug on the hose and NOT have it come off. Attach the rubber dust cup over the screws inside the trunk.

Comments about Monroe Max-Air Air Shock Absorber:
These shocks are a direct replacement exact fit for 2004 DeVille. Nothing additional required. Org. air lines connect with no modifications. These shocks have a heavier piston than the org. equipment shocks. Restored ride to like new. simple installation even for folks with with minimum mechanical skills.Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Comments about Monroe Max-Air Air Shock Absorber:
I am Not a Mechanoc, so I didn't install the Shocks. My Mechanic did say that they were easy to Install after you got by all of the parts that were in the way. he seemed to like the way they performed. I have driven more than 500 miles on them so far and No problems. They seem to be working good.

I just installed them on my cadillac and they are doing the job quite well. The pump for the levelers doesn't run half as much and still maintains a level ride.I have found absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Comments about Monroe Max-Air Air Shock Absorber:
Great shock for the money... the auto leveling pump on my car quit working so this was the easiest fix in my book. No more sitting low in the back (the car, that is)... Easy to install and perfect all the way around.

Comments about Monroe Max-Air Air Shock Absorber:
This vehicle gets driven on gravel roads. Worn shocks make drivability an issue with young drivers. Replacing shocks can keep the car on the road and out of the ditch!

Q:
Hi, I like to replace my rear Bilstein B46-0535 shocks (Mercedes 240d, 1976, w114) with these ones. Is it possible to remove the cross pin in the lower mounting of the monroes (Lower Mounting Code: Cross Pin Mount - Closed Ended, 5/16" Hole ID (Both Ends) X 2.7/8" Pin Length (Hole Center to Center)? If possible, the lower mounting of the monroes would then look like the bilsteins? Thank you for your help, Markus1 answer

what is the best way to be sure my air pump and leveling system are working well and is there service that should be done while i am replaceing shocks?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Slow pump-up - If takes time for the system to pump up to normal height in the morning, air is probably leaking from the line from the tank to the valve block (usually at the connection to the valve block). If not, the valves inside the valve block are probably leaking.Q:
