I use my stant cap to protect my investment. Today, a full tank of gas is, in my eyes is an investment. It was very affordably priced, easy to install and remove.

Had a check engine light and when I scanned it, calls for a new gas cap. Instead of buying oem from the dealer or just an ordinary gas cap from a parts store opted in buying something with a lock. Reasonably priced and good deal than buying anywhere else.

Very easy to install (lol) I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to beef up their security on their vehicle. With gas prices the way they are and people doing stupid crimes. Why would you not want to by a locking gas cap? I bought this after a couple people from my job had their gas stolen from their tank and I decided I did not want to wait and see if someone would pay a visit to my tank down the line.
The only downside to this product is all the keys are the same.

Successful fitment for this locking fuel tank cap for my 1989 Dodge D150 4x2 w/5.2L V-8. It's working great for me. Installed 1 wk ago.
RE-KEYING: Initially I checked into a MoPar locking cap to see if I could get one re-keyed to match my truck's ignition key, but the locking cap for this vehicle had to be ordered (no Chrysler dealers had it in stock), and there was not enough info to be certain it was re-keyable, or if it was simply this same aftermarket Stant cap. So I reduced my aggravation and bought this item from Advance, which I knew CANNOT be re-keyed to match the vehicle's ignition key.
TETHER: Another minor issue it that the origianl factory cap has a tether so the cap stays with the vehicle when removed, but this Stant locking cap does NOT provide any tether mount capability.
VENT or NO VENT: The Advance site's pproduct description does not clearly indicate cap model differences... This one is vent-free, but Advance did have an alternative cap choice for a "vent" version, which I checked into via Stant's website, and learned that the "vent" version will open a small vent when the key is inserted, in order to equalize the tank pressure to the atmospheric pressure, so there is reduced chance for fuel to spatter out when the cap is 1st removed from the filler neck. Decided that feature was un-needed for the $2 increase, since it's not likely fuel will be near the cap when the tank needs filling.

This Stant Locking Gas Cap - (Part No. 10591) has limited lifetime replacement as warranty. This warranty is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase or any longer warranty period that may be printed on your original sales receipt. In addition, you must be the original purchaser of the part and still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty cannot be transferred to anyone at any time. Replacement parts are warranted for 90 days from the date of exchange or the remainder of the warranty period, whichever is longer. Warranty periods may vary from part to part.
