Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Leaf Spring Shackle Kit:
I installed two shakle kits on my wife's ford van. The only difficult part was removing the old bolt from the spring. The product worked very well.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Leaf Spring Shackle Kit:
Worked great and fit well. The included bushing did not fit my spring but wasn't absoutley necessary to the job. The included hardware was a nice touch. I also recommend replacing the spring bracket on the frame since it is probably weakened from time and rust.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Leaf Spring Shackle Kit:
went on faster thanks to combining rubber bushing and spacer in one assembly. tapped right in . other side took 10+ minutes more using 60's style rubber parts from ford dealer. i was leery about pounding it in. gently tapping into spring with included bolt;went in flush on 3rd tap.WHOOHOO! cutting 4 rivits off with cutting torch was trickiest part without destroying frame of truck.90 minutes approx. removal time. NOT FOR AMATEURS!!!

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Leaf Spring Shackle Kit:
Unless you plan on removing the box from your truck, and/or have a lift, replacing these, and the companion hangers is definitely no 10 minute job !!!
And, just like what came on your Ranger, these things are flimsy and will not tolerate winter salt, sand or abuse.. WARNING : Save your O.E.M. flag-nuts for top bolt re-use, or buy new ones ! If you DON'T remove your truck box, you won't be able to gain access to the self-locking nuts that come with this kit.. Ford calls for 85 lb/ft for this top bolt, and 76 lb/ft for the bottom bolt, and 30 lb/ft on hanger bolts.. I'm currently looking for HEAVIER aftermarket shackles & hangers, OR, may make my own, because these are way too light.....even for a Ranger !

What is O.E.3 answers
VERIFIED BUYER
A:
O.E. = "Original Equipment", and due to overuse of the abbreviation, can mean several different things these days. Traditionally, it referred to an original Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc. part OR the part without the big name, but was made by the same exact supplier. Nowadays, it's use is a bit more general, but does imply that it will be an exact replacement, and is made to the same quality standards - this however is debatable.VERIFIED BUYER
