Very accurate and quick refresh. It's nice that it locks the max temp. I couldn't believe how hot random things around the house really are.. fans are all over 100. :) I use this to monitor temps while relowing a graphics card on a motherboard. Works great. Used a $20 off coupon and price became better than anywhere online. [...]

The first thing I noticed is that the CP7876 Infrared Thermometer has a good quality feel and look to it. Then I noticed the the LCD does not have as good of a contrast ratio as I might have expected for a high quality product. The numbers could have been of a bolder style and also with a lighter gray background (like my Fluke 77 multimeter that I bought in 1985).
I like the ease with which the batteries can be replaced and the hinge cover on the battery holder.
I have mixed feelings about the ease with which I can change from F degrees to C degrees, because accidentally changed it at one time.
