i was thinking this was going to a bad door handle because of the reviews on here and on other sites but despite what i read i ordered it because i havent had a door handle in around 2 years and i needed 10 bucks more to get 50 bucks off my order. i just put it on and its just like the original if not better. seems to be extremely durable and no modifications were required to put it on, if i had to say anything i would get some of those plastic things that hold the door panel on because you might break a few getting it off. btw i have a 1997 chevy silverado z71/k1500

This thing went in sooooo easy!! Once the old unit was removed it only took 5 minutes to hook up the handle and lock slide and I was done. After that it was just a quick slot alinement and it slid into place. Wow.
It would have been nice if they had included a fastener to replace the pop rivet you have to remove from the old unit. It was ok for me since I knew that I'd need someway to secure it. I just replaced the pop rivet with another pop rivet, mainly because I couldn't find a self tapping screw to fit the hole in my junk box.
I spent more time getting the door panel off and on than on installing the part!
