Comments about BWD Ignition Coil:
My daughter's '02 Camaro was running rough. Diagnostics showed a cylinder 5 misfire. Checking resistance on that cylinder's coil showed it bad. Simple replacement. Totally fixed the misfire and shake. Power is back!

Comments about BWD Ignition Coil:
I bought this product on-line but picked it up at the store the same day. It is nice to have that option when wanting to get it done quickly. This item was for my Sons 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra. It has a V6 and the #3 coil was bad. The install couldn't have been easier and we did it together in under 5 minutes. The car is no longer missing on the #3 cylinder and runs smooth as butter. My son learned a valuable lesson on how important it is to have the car off while changing the coil. We used a silver permanent marker to label which plug went to which terminal. My son is very happy with this so far.

Comments about BWD Ignition Coil:
These coils are exact fit replacements, so they are very easy to install. It is difficult to determine what is causing a miss fire on a computer controlled Car. I buy most all of my parts from Advanced. The prices are competitive and the service/counter people are all GREAT folks.

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Ignition Coil -part# E51P, isolate the negative battery cable. You need to disconnect the ground cable from the negative terminal of the battery. You should also set the emergency or parking brake as an additional safety feature. Locate the IDI/ICM pin and disconnect it from the harness connector. Separate the ignition coil and the ignition coil module assembly from the engine. Detach the housing cover retaining screws and remove the cover. Remove the ignition coil, the seal and the contacts from the cover. Replace the old seals with new seals and lubricate the connection with petroleum jelly. Insert the new ignition coil. What is the difference in the E51 and E51P coil pack and which one would I use for a 98 Pontiac GrandPrix GTP? Both of them say they are a exact fit for my car?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This BWD Ignition Coil (Part No. E51P) has HEI/DIS ignition coil terminals of steel or aluminum and it uses high efficiency laminations to optimize magnetic field build-up, to produce high spark energy. The BWD Select Ignition Coil (Part No. E51) use pure copper windings in both bobbins which creates a high temperature rating for improved durability and higher resistance to internal shorts and dielectric breakdown. The coil can run hotter without breaking down. If any of the ignition coils are bad would it cause the car not to start up ?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, if any of the ignition coils are bad it would cause the car not to start. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
what is the resitance supposed to be on these coils if they are bad or good?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the side terminals of the coil. Do this with all of the wires to the coil disconnected. You should see 0.75 to 0.81 ohm of resistance. Then check the resistance between either side terminal and the center high tension terminal. The reading should be 10,000 to 11,000 ohms. Any significant deviation from these numbers would indicate that the coil is defective.Q:
i have a 1997 Pontiac sunfire it has the 2.2 liter how many coils do i need?3 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Each cylinder requires a single ignition coil.A:
you need 2 coils because each coil runs 2 cylinders and you have a 4-cylinder car. hope that helps.A:
That guy at AAP is wrong, each cylinder does not require a coil you have a duel coil system,(aka waste spark ignition) which means 2 coil packs for a 4 cylinder, 3 coils for a 6 cylinder. you have a 4 cylinder so you need 2 coil packs.Q:
I have a 2004 impala SS , and I wanna replace my coils. But do this order comes with all 3 coils or do I have 2 order all 3.1 answer

This part is sold individually.
