My check engine light came on and my truck began to sputter and buck back and forth. i limped my truck to advance and one of the associates plugged in the diagnostic machine computer. it indicated a cylinder 7 misfire, so i purchased the BWD ignition coil in lieu of the motorcraft ignition coil. after installation, the truck ran smooth as ever.

Bought on-line through Advance Auto Parts. Transaction went very smoothly and picked up item at my local dealer the next morning. Only issue is with Ford. This truck "eats" ignition coils. Been the worst issue I've had with it since buying new 10 years ago. AND, depending on the cylinder needed for, they're "hard" to access and replace. Thanks.

        Comments about BWD Ignition Coil:

I installed this on a 2004 Ford E-350 with a 5.4L. This was time consuming because of getting everything out of the way. The actual replacement of the coil is easy but we replaced the spark plugs and a couple of boots as well. This part fixed our miss the engine had.I would have gave 5 stars but we just replaced it and I am hoping that this part will last.

          Comments about BWD Ignition Coil:

I changed two ignition coils in my 2002 F-150 that had gone out. They keep the spark plugs firing correctly and help keep the truck from going from 14-16 MPG to 10-12 MPG. The ignition coils were a perfect fit and fix for the issue I was having! The ones closest to the fire-wall aren't the easiest to replace but a little patience goes a long way. One of the greatest benefits to purchasing at Advance Auto is the helpful staff who answer any question one may have. This was not the first I had to change and more than likely not the last one I have to change...3 more to go. :-0

                                A:

An ignition coil that is completely dead will prevent the engine from starting or will stop the engine if the car is running at the time of failure. This is because no current will reach the spark plugs. An ignition coil that is failing will still provide current to the plugs, but it might not be enough for a full spark and the car will run sluggishly. If the current being provided by the coil isn't consistent, the car will run rough.
