Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVA/C Air Door Actuator:
Other than gaining access to the actuator (blame GM) it fell right into place. This is the second one I've had to replace and by far the most difficult. I think there's only two more!

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVA/C Air Door Actuator:
Exactly like the original part. A/C blend door works perfectly now. No more Hot Air blowing Randomly anymore. The Part goes in easily, but the cover is tricky to install. Nothing that someone with minimal mechanical abilities can't handle.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVA/C Air Door Actuator:
This is the part that fixed the infamous Avalanche hot air AC condition. Its a little difficult to install due to the tight spaces but can be done in less than an hour. After installing you will have to run through the calibration procedure. This consists of removing the climate control fuse under the hood for at least 30 seconds, then replacing it and starting the vehicle back up without adjusting any of the temperature controls. As a side note, after installation I noticed that air would only blow through the defroster eventhough the dash or floor vents were selected. This lasted for about 2 days until it went back into normal working order.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVA/C Air Door Actuator:
Great product by Dorman perfect match to OE part only took about 30 mins to install. You have to reset a/c accuator for it to work had to go online to find instructions Dorman(www.dorman.com) should put this in the box. Once I reset accuator it works perfect no more blowing hot air on driver side and cold on passager side

Q:
Is there any way to test the blend door besides buying a new one to see if actuator works?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Set the function selector switch to the MAX A/C position. Adjust the blend door potentiometer to full COOL (left) and check for cool air discharge. Adjust the blend door potentiometer to full WARM (right) and check for warm air discharge. Vary the blend door actuator control from full WARM to full COOL. If the air temperature changes, then the system is OK. Or else check with the fuse and check the voltage to the a/c electronic blend door actuator motor. 2000 silverado 1500 4x4 z71, fan blower blows on all speeds and switches to defrost and floor and vents but doesn't seem to be blowning hard thur all vents what could be? (blower actuator) does switching (floor to vents to defrost), and (blower resistor) control fan speed. does this truck have two blower actuators or what could be the problem? seem not to blowning air hard.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The Air Blend Door Actuator should be the possible cause of the problem and your 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 4x4 should have only one HVAC Air Door Actuator. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
my ac is stuck blowing in the defrost area. Is this also controled by the air door actuator?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, the Air Blend Door Actuator should be the possible cause of the problem as the blend door, blends or mixes the hot air with the cold air. There usually is an actuator motor that opens and closes the blend door a little at a time to adjust how much hot air and cold air to mix for the temperature setting you have chosen. If your blend door or doors are broken sometimes you will only get cold air coming thru the vents or maybe just hot air with no air conditioning. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
