I was disappointed with this heater core because it was highly rated. This core was purchase and professionally installed at a shop. After 2 months of use.. this core stop working. Since i purchase this core and I had the shop install they were not responsible for the core defectiveness unless it through labor. Add in the fact i paid them $500 to installed it I gave it my own little peep so I would not be charge another $500 in labor. I exchange it and install it myself( also after i learn how to install this core I could not believe the shop charge me $500 for this install). The second unit did not work as promise it blew some heat but it was luke warm. I remove the cover from the core and touch the core, it was warm at best.At that point was finish with this core. I purchase a different brand that achieve that same level of warmth just seconds after a cold start. Now my front heater is heated with in minutes. My experience with this particular part was not that great so I can not recommend it since I had the part replace two times.

Comments about Ready-Aire Heater Core:
Installed fine, fits good, watch for hidden screws when removing lower heater housing.
Just wish it included new firewall seal/gasket, old one crumbled when replacing core.
Get new seal before replacing incase you need it, if not return itafter repair.

Bought on line and found it was made in China at store. Pipes move around (sealed by o-rings and crimped to not fall out?). Found an AC Delco on line with much better quality even though it was more expensive. If you need one NOW this will work. If you can wait find the Delco part.

Q:
I have a '94 GMC Sierra with a 305. How are inlet and outlet tubes connected to the heater core? Do the tubes rotate at the connections? Or is it a brazed connection, etc.? Thank you for your help.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The inlet and outlet tubes to the heater core on your GMC Jimmy are clamped on the engine side of the firewall as for the tube could not rotate at the connections.Q:
took out water flow valve replaced heater core still blows cold 1995 tahoe with 3501 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
IF your Heater Core is higher than your radiator cap there will be an Air pocket in the heater core, some cars require that you jack up the car so as to purge all the air from the core. If the heater control valve is not hot on both sides that could b the problem. If there is not enough vacuum to the control or valve. Cars have a bleeder valve on the engine-like a bleeder valve on brakes to bleed the air from the cooling system. Check that there is no air at the bleeder. If the thermostat is gone or stuck open or too low Degree, the engine will not produce enough heat. The heater should b used all year for a few minutes so as to keep the core clean. IF not, the core acts as a collector for all the dirt in the system.Q:

Unfortunately we are unable to diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle without being able to be there with your vehicle. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
Have a small amount of liquid (appears to be antifreeze) in the passenger's side floor board? Do I need to replace the Heater coil or is there a cheaper way to seal this leak1 answer

How hard is it to replace core yourself?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Well this all depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.Q:
where is the heater core located? and if the heater core is clogged up how do you unclogg it?3 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The heater core is usually located behind the dash board. Sometimes you are able to flush out the heater core to unclogg it but if that does not work, you may have to go ahead and replace it.CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The heater core is usually located behind the dash of the vehicle. If it is clogged up I would recommend flushing the system out by hooking up a water hose to one of the outlets/inlets that come out from the fire wall in the engine compartment. There should be two of these inlet/outlets where the hoses connect to.A:
Flushing the heater core is the first choice. Changing it is a very tedious procedure that sometimes involves removing the entire dashboard I.E. Jeep CJ's. Find the Two hoses entering your firewall. One of these is the inlet and the other is the outlet. You need to flush it out backwards (hook the garden hose to the outlet side of the core). You can decipher which is the outlet by hose placement. The inlet is generally attached to the intake manifold and the outlet attaches to the radiator. Unhook both hoses and aim the inlet hose down to avoid getting soaked. Then attach the garden hose to the outlet and let it flow for a while. Then kink the garden hose to build up pressure and release it surging water through the heater core. Continue until the water coming out of the hanging inlet hose is nice and clear. With any luck you just saved yourself a lot of headaches.Q:
if the blower is on low it will blow loop warm air if i turn it to medium or high it will start off loop warm then go cold would that be the heater core2 answers

Possibly. Unfortunately we are unable to diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle without being able to be there with your vehicle. We highly recommend taking your vehicle to a reputable shop to have them take a look at it to determine the cause.A:
if ur vechical isnt heating up u might have stuck a thermostat .A stuck t-stat or partialy open t-stat will only allow a small amout of coolant through to the heating system of a vehical and wouldn't allow heat to be generated.Q:

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Sounds like it could either be your heater core being clogged or your heater control valve is not opening up for some reason.
