Comments about Felpro Head Bolt Set:
Used these on a head gasket replacement and they worked great, already had the sealant applied to the treads on all the bolts.

Comments about Felpro Head Bolt Set:
I used these on a fresh over haul, and they are as good as original equipment. You just need to make sure that you chase the threads before installing them as with any new head bolt to prevent breakage.

Comments about Felpro Head Bolt Set:
Bolts were fine up to 50 lbs/ft, when torqued to 65 lbs/ft you could feel them stretch. Of course one broke, all the store will offer is a refund, which won't make you feel any better when you're taking the head back off and trying to get the broken bolt out of the engine block.....

Comments about Felpro Head Bolt Set:
did not have a problem with the bolts ,added oil to the underside of the bolt heads and torqued with no problem as you do with all torque to yield bolts
Comments about Felpro Head Bolt Set:
When installing head bolts you torque to yeild in 3 step increments. My head bolt application is 65 foot pounds torque starting (25)FP to (45)FP and (65)FP of torque. THESE PEICES OF GARBAGE BROKE OFF AT 40 FOOT POUNDS. STAY AWAY FROM FAIL-PRO HEAD BOLT'S, ARP IS THE WAY TO GO.

what is the torque on 400 sbc for rods & mains1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I am showing the torque for the connecting rods to be 50 ft. lbs. but in some instances it can be more. I am showing the inner main bearings to need 70 ft. lbs. and the out to need 65 ft. lbs. Once again, I recommend consulting a manual before any repairs are made to verify these numbers.Q:
i have head studs on this 400 sbc what is the torque on the heads1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I am showing the torque to be 65 ft. lbs. I would first consult a manual before you actually torque them down to verify.
