Great shock,HOWEVER, i bought these for my awd explorer and the front end setup is just like the 2wd..i dont think they have enough guts to take on the extra weight of the AWD system, but otherwise there great. i will be upgrading to heavier dutier shock next time...but it should be great for 2wd's

After installing the shocks my ride is rougher than it was before. Also, the info on the website said these were an exact fit for my vehicle----Wrong,---the bottom holes did not match up. Took them back to the local store where they were picked up, exchanged them for some more expensive shocks which, guess what?--they didn't fit either, same problem--bottom holes didn't match. The original shocks had slotted holes so without further ado I proceeded to take a hacksaw and slot the last pair. I'm just hoping they hold up like this. Thanks for listening. abc

These were for my truck....know that monroe is a good brand, but wasn't too sure if they would be heavy duty enough. well, they are ok.....not that there is anything wrong w/ the shocks themselves, but i really should have bought a heavier model. I can definitely tell a difference in my handling w/ these, so if i wouldn't have been so cheap i could have gotten a better one and been that much more happy.
But anyway, changing them was super easy.....i had prepped the night before by spraying on WD-40 on all the nuts so they would break loose easier, which they did. it took me 1-1/2 from time i started to finish.....of course, i had to get jack stands out, tools and put them away in that time. plus, i cleaned and painted underneath and around rotors too. so, just the change out was probably 15min.
these would be good shocks for cars or light trucks.

The Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber by Monroe is a very good product. It's very easy to use, It's lightweight, and It's versatile. The only con I had with this particular product was that It came packaged with the wrong size nut for the bolt that ties the bottom of the shock into the control arm. So I had to go up to advance and pick up a pack of the right size nuts. Other than that, this is a very good product.

Improved ride slightly. Then began to leak oil and the ride became worse. I exchanged them and upgrade to the sensa shocks. I will review those after I drive on them for a while.

I was satisfied with how the online ordering works. My product was at the advanced auto I requested. The only down fall was the system gave me the wrong part for my truck even though I had input the correct make, model and year. I had to go back to the shop and get my parts replaced. Although there was no hassle.
