I bought these to replace the very old shocks on my '97 Explorer. A good fit, easy to install. I kind of like the new upper bolts that come them, as opposed to the stock configuration where the upper bolts are integral. On the rear of a Explorer, the upper shock mounts are a little hard to access, and in a spot where I could not fit an air tool. But the new bolts allowed me to use my air ratchet from below to finish the installation. YMMV

The lower bolt was not included with the shock. The old bolt was twisted in half to get it off and the other one was cut off with a torch. There was a second trip to get a replacement bolt and Advance sold me an english bolt instead of a metric. Second trip to a local hardware store for a $3 bolt which should have been with the shock to start with.

Bought to replace rears which were really worn out. One of the boxes was missing one of the new top end bolt and nut, fortunate I had a few spares around.

I always shop at Advance Auto Parts for my vehicle needs. I love shopping online because of the discounts I usually am able to take advantage of. The whole purchase experience was great for me. I looked online at the products, had a chat with a rep that referred me to the Monroe Gas LT Shock Absorbers and then picked them up in the store with the associates being very prompt, curtious and helpful.I was able to install the Monroe Gas LT Shock Absorber myself. And the product has made such an improvement in the proformance of my truck I am just so very happy! Now I am wondering what took me so long. I would defently recommend this product!

Product works great. My truck needed them. I also noticed that I needed the sway bar bushings and replaced those as well. It would have been nice if the counter/sales guy would have mentioned that when I first purchased both front and rear shocks. I had to make another trip to the store to get the bushings.

the top bolts are a pain in the butt to get to. but, that's Fords design. love my new shocks.
