Was a direct fit and a no brainer when replacing the fuel pump in a 95 S10.
I used a Bosch Fuel pump from Advance.

Mounting flange was to large and would not stay on pump. Had to go purchase Dephi strainer to complete pump instalation.

Yes, it is recommended to replace the fuel strainer once your vehicle reaches 30,000 miles.
