Unit fit like original, with the exception of the wire harness, needing to be spliced in. Have since taken 1 roadtrip, and found out the float not accurate. Low fuel light did not come on until gauge was reading below 1/8 of a tank. Original unit set light off at about 1/4 of a tank. Will have to watch the trip odometer closely.

Tested it out of the box, and it fired right up. Install was a little tricky, GM changed wiring harness (new one included); had to do a little splicing. The position tab on the pump was a little bigger than the original, but nothing a little shave with a razor blade couldn't fix :) Drive on!

Comments about Airtex Fuel Pump Module Assembly:
The fuel pump was the correct one for my vehicle. All I had to do was drop the tank and install the new pump. I did have to rewire the plug for the new improved plug connection.

Comments about Airtex Fuel Pump Module Assembly:
Original pump quit after 6 yrs. It worked for an hour then quit for 15 min or so. Airtex pump was 1/2 the price of OEM. It last me for about 2 yrs then quit with no warning. Trucks getting old so put another airtex pump on and it. It lasted me about 2 years then truck would not start cold, low pressure. I'm thinking of replacing the truck in about a year. One more airtex pump and the fuel gauge goes out after a year, 3 weeks later pump quits. I'm replacing the truck soon so it got one more Airtex pump. Moral is I would have saved a lot of money and a bunch of agravation w/ an OEM pump when the factory one went out.

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It could be a number of things causing this. Unfortunately we are unable to diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle without being able to be there with your vehicle. We highly recommend taking your vehicle to a reputable shop to have them take a look at it to determine the cause.Q:
what is the easiest way to check that the pump is working without dropping the gas tank1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Check the pressure against what is specified in your manual. Generally, a vehicle needs between 30 and 80 psi in order to run smoothly, but your vehicle may be different. If you pressure matches what is the manual, then your fuel pump is working correctly.Q:
will this unit fix fluctuating gas guage?3 answers

A:
It may not be necessary. Issue with the gauge is most likely an electrical issue. Still need to drop the tank to check the lead so if you have alot of miles on the vehicle, it might be a good preventitive step to replace the module. It is a $250 part, though, so that's pretty expensive prevention.CUSTOMER CARE

It may fix that problem.
