Comments about Sunpro Fuel Lever Sender:
This product is the one I choose after using many others. I build rods and after spending more then double for this product at high end shops. I buy mine at advance. Remember to check the Ohms so that this product matches the Ohms of your fuel gauge. So that the two will work properly together.

Comments about Sunpro Fuel Lever Sender:
Universal fit, would fit the tank, didn't have to use the whole asembly - found my original float (Brass) would sink, used the float only and reinstalled the unit; it worked great.

Comments about Sunpro Fuel Lever Sender:
This part was extremely useful when my old unit failed on my 25 year old cj5 jeep i left the old fuel pick up in place and installed the level sender in the tank, and it in conjunction with the new fuel gauge worked just fine. this unit is not meant to replace the old fuel pick up and sensing unit it is just a fuel level sender and is mounted along with the fuel pickup.the originality unit had a much lower ohm reading of 10 full and 75 empty this unit needs 325 empty and 10 full

Comments about Sunpro Fuel Lever Sender:
The product is good and would be easy to install except that the plate that attaches it to the tank is made to be secured with screws. For my application (Ford Tank) the disk was too small for that. Ford uses a retaining ring that effectively clamps the plate over an o-ring. The plate had two problems, it was too small, making it difficult to center over the o-ring and the screw holes were inside the circumference of the seal. I had to make a shim to put over the inner side of the plate and seal it with RTV. Even after that long and arduous trial and error getting the lock ring in place and the sender positioned correctly was quite a chore.
Here are my suggestions: 1. offer multiple mounting plates 2. ship with a solid gasket designed to block the screw holes 3. offer a sending unit specifically for late '80's ford products.

Q:
Will this work in a 2005 Mazda 3i? and do you have to lower the fuel tank? How easy or hard is it to do it yourself?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This Sunpro Fuel Lever Sender (Part No. CP7583) is universal and not a direct fit for your 2005 Mazda 3 I. To lower the fuel tank depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. However, we would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
