Engine starts better. Engine now runs poorly on the highway and went from 15MPG to 10MPG. Looking to replace with a better product. Not looking forward to replacing this expensive item also about 4 hours to replace! I shoud have looked for a better quality one(Like OEM). The poor gas mialage now (33% increase in fuel consumption) is not what I expected from a description"helps reduce fuel consumption". Is this one defective? Will Advanced Auto Parts help?

i thought my tahoe had bit the dust . trouble code after trouble code , multi misfire,o2 sensor , rough idle , backfire, poor milage , you name it my truck had it . took a chance on BWD injectors and man am I glad i did !! I cant remember if it ever ran this good and took care of all the trouble codes . my dash looks odd now not having a blinking check engine light, but I can get used to that. do yourself a favor and update from CSFI to MPI if you dont want to buy a new ride . my tahoe is a 96 5.7 4x4 with 254000 miles on it and am hopeing to get at least another 100000 out of it now .

Took a couple of hours at home, remove plastic intake plenum, replaced intake gasket and holding bracket. Old holding bracket on CPI (Central Port Injection) unit is normally loose, this one the MPFI (multi port fuel injection) will be tight. 2 hardest part for me was getting the dang cruise control cable off, it had a plastic what we call an "E" clip, this was done on 2001 chevy express 1 ton van. the second is when you put plastic plenum back on the spider fits real snug into the plenum hole. Trick is put back tiny nuts on spider where the fuel rails go in, then pry against intake to bottom of nuts VERY GENTLEY. Please dont brake your intake doing this trick. If it still doesnt go, you can snug down with intake bolts, just go around evenly and slow.
Good product... seams there all the same part just old productions from the dealer. paid $260ish on 10/2012. with a 20% off coupon code. Check youtube for vidoes that may help

I bought this part to fix my misfire on #4 cylinder. I have had this problem for about a year. I started by changing just the injector for the #4 cylinder. fixed for a month then came back. Replaced a few more items that could have been the cause with no luck. I finally decided to buy the MFI kit with an online coupone. Took around 2hrs to swap out with the new unit. Cleared my codes and took it for a drive. Its only been a few weeks but no codes have been set and I have seen a big improvement in gas mileage and over all engine performance.

Part made a huge difference. Glad this updated the horrible original injector system. The OEM part design was a nightmare. This solves so many issues with the Vortec style fuel injection systems. Would have liked to of seen braided hoses instead of plastic ones. However instillation was a snap and all went well!

I have a 96 Chevy Silverado Z-71 with a 5.7 Liter 350 V8. It is all of a sudden loping at and idle, I smell gas and it it running very rich all of a sudden. When you start it up it blows black smoke out both exhaust. Also while coasting it will start popping and at night flames shoot out exhaust and smoke bellows. Otherwise going down the road it runs ok other that excessive gas consuption. Is most likely injector problem. Truck has recently had new cap, rotary button, wires, plugs and coil.

As you changed your spark plug, wires and coil, the next main concern is fuel injector and oxygen sensor. These are quite a few things to check - compression, valves and intake manifold gasket.
