Comments about National Front Wheel Bearing:

The National bearings are much more expensive than the competition. I did front rotors on my light truck and had to buy inner/outer on both sides. However, the product is excellent quality and a trusted name. Also consider, how many times are you going to replace front bearings on ANY car? Once? You might at well do it right while you have the rotors off! Don't be affraid of this repair...JUST DO IT!

Comments about National Front Wheel Bearing:

Each came sealed in plastic in a box. Each comes with the outer race (red part of the picture).

I used these while replacing all the front pads, rotor-hubs, bearings, and seals on a 1997 Ford Explorer (RWD). These A-2 bearings matched up with the dimensions on the old ones. Packing these bearings by hand was more difficult than the larger A-5 bearings for this same job. The new rotor-hubs had races already installed, so I didn't need the ones that came with these bearings.

The only con so far is that I dropped one. No scratches or dirt in it, so we'll see.

                A:

No, it does not require a machine press while installation. Using the new bearings, replace the old ones, tapping them into place. Pack with grease when they are in place. Install new seal after the bearings are packed with grease.
