how to install part 214-1680 on 07 tahoe how to get clips off

      A:

With reference to your inquiry on the ACDelco Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve - Part No. 214-1680 use a small/medium screwdriver and pry up the middle locking tang on the metal retainer clip that's bolted to the block. The purge valve solenoid slides onto this retainer but is locked into place by a middle finger/tang on the retainer that faces towards the block. The metal retainer clip has a cut out in the middle with a thin locking tang that's bent facing down. From the top of the retainer, insert your screw driver from the transmission side into the slit closest to the transmission and pry up until the center tang is sticking up in the back (closest to the block). Now it should no longer be engaged with the purge valve solenoid. Now you need to pull and wiggle the purge solenoid off of the retainer, it doesn't slide off as easily as you'd expect. Pull the retainers apart to release the vent solenoid from the bracket, and then remove it from the vehicle. To reinstall the vent solenoid, follow the steps for removal in reverse order.
