I bought this Dorman oil cooler line and it should have been a 30 min job max. I couldn't figure out why the line wouldn't go into the filter housing. When compared with the original part, the new part was over flared making it impossible to push in all the way. I had to put the old leaking line back in and go back to the a different Advance store because they only keep one in stock at each location. An easy job became a royal pain.

I purchased the upper and lower engine oil cooling lines and was disappointed in the quality. I simply could not get the upper line to fit into the quick connect fitting on oil filter housing. After hours of trial and error, I discovered that the conical end of the new line was misshapen compared to the other new line and the original line. In addition, one line came with a quick connect clip and the other did not. Even the replacement for the defective line did not come with a clip as it should have. Finally, I thought the installation instructions were very poor, in fact, they were non-existent as they simply said refer to your service manual. Not everyone who is trying to save a few bucks doing work on their own cars has service manuals, and it would have been pretty easy to write installation instructions since these lines are vehicle specific.

Dam those spring retainer clips. Order extra when you order the hoses. Their trajectory is unpredictable when they inevitably fly away during an attempt at installation. Good design for assembly line not aftermarket.
