Fuel pump when out on me in the Ranger on my way home from work one cold evening. I replaced it with this pump a few days later. Fired right up and has been running fine ever since. Been about 6-8 months now. Easy to change too. You don't need that whole assembly if it's just the pump that went. Glad I listened to people otherwise I would have wasted [$]!!

Comments about Airtex Electric Fuel Pump:
when my pump went out i started to google fuel pumps. i got so many results that weren't anything to do with mine. i saw the advanced auto link in the search and hit it. searched for the pump for my rtuck and bingo! mine is one that the cage is removed from the tank and is basically rebuilt. the removal of the old parts and putting the new on was a worry that i'd break something but all of it fit. put in back in the tanki and finished up and ignition...within 5 seconds was running.

Q:
I have a 1994 mazda 626 es and I need to install a fuel pump. I want to know if it is difficult to install1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
With reference to this Airtex Electric Fuel Pump - part# E2471, the fuel pump on your Mazda 626 ES is located inside the fuel tank on this vehicle and will require removal of the tank to replace. Make sure you empty out the tank, so you can clean the tank before installing the new fuel pump, you don't want any debris or anything that may have caused the old fuel pump to go to get into the new pump. Use a cleaner that wont leave a residue. Replacing the fuel pump on this vehicle depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.Q:

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The problem may be with the fuel pick-up line in your tank. Check your fuel pick-up line in your tank to see if it is damaged and also check that the fuel guage is working properly and the breather vent on the fuel tank. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
is this a kit to rebuild the fuel pump1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Sorry, this Airtex Electric Fuel Pump - part# E2471 is itself a fuel pump and not a rebulid kit. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and we would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
Why doesn't the kit contain the return line check valve ?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The Airtex Electric Fuel Pump part number E2471 will require the separate purchase of a flow check valve as it is not provided with the replacement fuel pump. Airtex does offer flow check valves such as Part Number CV8000, which is used in E8120 & Universal Mechanical & Electrical fuel pumps.Q:
what is the difference between E 2042 and E2471 pumps1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This Airtex Electric Fuel Pump (Part No. E2471) has 40-50 gph Free Flow Rating and 80-100 PSI Pressure Rating and this Airtex Electric Fuel Pump (Part No. E2042) has 30-35 gph Free Flow Rating and 80-90 PSI Pressure Rating.Q:
Are all the fuel pumps for 1998 B3000 extended cab 4x4 trucks in the fuel tank? My truck has what looks like an external fuel pump under the bed, just in front of the rear bumper.1 answer

Could it be my fuel pump?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, the fuel pump may be the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
Does this fuel pump come with the strainer?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No, it does not come with the strainer.Q:
I have a 95 grand marquis what is the fuel pressure suppose to be? after checking it I got a reading of 35 while it's at idle, is this the right pressure reading or should it be higher?1 answer
