Comments about Mr. Gasket Electric Fuel Pump Diesel:

I own a case W18 loader and my diesel fuel transfer pump wore out. To replace it with a case OEM part would be expensive and difficult for me to do. Advance Auto supplied me with a 4 to 7 # pump that was easy to install and of high quality also. My Case W18 was never better and runs like new with this transfer pump that feeds fuel to the injector pump that cost more than $2000.00 on this loader. I have saved countless hours and ordering time that would have caused my loader to be down and out-of-service for an extended period of time. Thank you Advance Auto and all employees for the great service you supply. Tony

Installed inline just after the tank selector as close to the tank as possible as was recommended since this is a pusher pump not a puller.

Lasted 8 months and left me stranded. Get what you pay for I guess.

Comments about Mr. Gasket Electric Fuel Pump Diesel:

The one I had on my tractor from Napa burned up after many years of use and I needed one to get me back going in the fields. I got this one and it did the job. The pump had the same mounting holes and hook ups so it made the job of replacing it much eaiser.

I just hope it will last though as long as the other one did. For not knowing the durability of this thing though, I couldn't give it 5 stars but so far, it's doing great!

The pump looks and functions as it should. Despite the bad reviews I have found about the durability of this pump it has not shown any sign of weakness yet. Builds great pressure and is not to loud but loud enough to let you know that its working

What is the difference between the diesel and gas pump. they seem to have the same PSI and GPH?

                A:

Even though a Diesel and Gas Fuel pump seem to work similarly, there is a significant difference between the two which is based on the way the diesel fuel pump is used. Diesel fuel is heavy, especially when compared to gasoline. Also, the diesel is not very volatile in nature. This is why diesel evaporates at a slower rate to gasoline. Diesel fuel has a good energy density and it is the most popular type of combustion engine. Apart from the high energy density factor, the diesel engine also has very good fuel efficiency. The gasoline engines use a spark to ignite the air/fuel mixture while this is not the case with the diesel fuel engine. In the diesel engine the required ignition temperature is obtained from the head generated by the compressed air in the cylinder. For any further assistance please feel free to call 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

            • Q:

I have an unorthodox application; please bear with me: Is this a reciprocating pump? Might it need a check valve for my use? I’m considering the use of this pump to prime the fuel injection pump on a Jetta Diesel (having 300K mi. on it). It loses prime when sitting a long time, like overnight, and takes a long time to start. Parts Place in Auburn Hills, MI suggest that re-priming of the pump can be done by adding fuel through the return line that is located at the top of the pump. I would install it to transfer fuel from discharge line coming from the fuel filter to the return line that is located above the fuel injection pump for re-priming. If the pump will act as its own check valve when it is not operating, I won’t need a check valve or normally closed valve once the fuel pump has re-gained its prime. Thanks, DH

This is a micro fuel pump only and it might not work as a reciprocating pump. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic to check for an alternate solution.
