I was a little skeptical after opening the box (this is about 35% larger than the sensor I was replacing), but the ports and electrical connection seem to match up well. The bigger size didn't interfere with anything under the hood so I replaced the malfunctioning unit, A 5 minute job. 65 miles later the check engine light went out and my ford Taurus is running great. This is a good value compared to OEM part.

Did not fit Ford Wiring Harness. Would recommend if it fits your particular car though since it's half the price of the factory part.

IT LOOKED DIFFERENT BUT IS A DIRECT REPLACEMENT FIT. INSTALLED IN TWO MINUETS AND CLEARED THE CODE AND M.I.L. THIS PART IS DEFECTIVE 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES WHEN THE EGR CODE IS SET, BUT CHECK THE EGR PORTS AND VACUUM TO BE SURE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.

People, they make two different ones as listed for Fords. When you go to the store I was asked this. There is a clip on one and one with two bolt holes. Make sure you buy the right one. They both do the same thing but they have different plug ins. The other part# is EGR155. I see comments where they say it doesn't fit. No, you bought the wrong one.

This is not the correct part for the 2000 5.4 Triton Engine. The electrical plug connection does not match.

My 2001 Ford Focus w/ 2.0 Zetec engine threw codes P0401 & P0402 (insufficient & excessive EGR). CEL light on. Hesitation when accelerating from stop & on downshifts. The DPFE sensor is a common failure on many Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda vehicles. Focus, in particular, fails about every 30K miles. (My 3rd replacement.) The BWD631 was 1/4 cost of the dealer repair, takes 5 minutes to replace, and has Lifetime Warranty. Failed after 1yr from engine heat but Adv Auto swapped with receipt and failed part, no questions. Great way to keep me as a customer!

                        A:

If the EGR valve is stuck open, it will essentially cause a vacuum leak, leading to inefficient combustion, rough idling, hesitation, and sometimes stalling in extreme cases. If the EGR valve is stuck closed, emissions of nitrogen oxides will rise, and the car may start to knock. In both cases, simple repairs are possible. The EGR valve can be clogged, and a simple cleaning of a mechanical EGR valve may solve the problem. In the case of an electrically controlled EGR valve or a more complex mechanical problem, replacement of the valve may be needed. The EGR valve is an expensive motor vehicle component, and care should be taken to ensure that it needs to be replaced rather than repaired. A reputable mechanic should advise you appropriately.

Under the plastic engine cover, with two hoses going into the A.I.R pipe, centered at the rear of the engine compartment. Kind of a long reach from either side of the Suv.

Under plastic engine cover, center, rear of engine compartment you will see two vacuum hoses less than two inches in length and about 5/8 of an inch in diameter, leading to the A.I.R. pipe at the back of the engine. Really easy swap.

Ford moved it on some models. On my 2002 Ford Expedition, 4.6, it's located about half way between the engine and the drivers side inner fender several inches from the dip stick. If you follow the metal pipe from the EGR valve, there will be two smaller pipes coming off that large pipe that lead to rubber hoses connected to the Pressure Feedback Sensor. On my 2002 Expedition, the photo shown is that of the bottom of the sensor since the two tubes on the sensor face downward with the electrical connection facing the front of the vehicle.
