Tru-Torque Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

Part No. W37857 Warranty

See if this part fits a specific vehicle.

Check Vehicle Fit

Direct replacement Wheel Cylinders are designed to fit specific vehicle applications and to ensure a proper fit every time. Normal wear may cause piston seals to leak. Corrosion and pitting can also occur inside Wheel Cylinders as moisture builds up in the brake fluid. A leaky Wheel Cylinder can be dangerous to the driver, causing gradual softening of the brake pedal and creating brake pull to one side.

Product Features:
  • All Wheel Cylinders are made with high quality EPDM rubber cups and boots for long lasting performance
  • Wheel Cylinder bores are surface tested to ensure an optimum sealing surface for the pressure cups
  • Due to repair time and cost, it is more desirable to replace instead of repair Wheel Cylinders
  • Recommended replacement is suggested when servicing drum brake

In today's world it costs only slightly more to replace the complete wheel brake cylinder than it does to buy a kit to rebuild your old one. Add the cost of a brake hone and your time to rebuild a wheel brake cylinder and the cost for a replacement cylinder is actually less than rebuilding. Best of all, ask any mechanic what they dread most about removing the old cylinder and they will most likely tell you breaking the attaching bolts. Not a problem when you are going to install a replacement cylinder.

Comments about Tru-Torque Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder:

these wheel cylinders were exact replacements, were easy to install, keep in mind removing the brake lines requires patience, and some good lube ( ie: PB Blaster or WD40) so not to damage the line. After install, they were easy to bleed and have had no issues with leaking or anything. Make sure to remove all traces of the lube off the drums or pads if they were contaminated, as this may cause poor braking. I recommend a good BRAKE CLEAN spray.

These cylinders helped complete a complete brake replacement on the rear of a 2001 Taurus. Both of the original cylinders were found to be leaking (at 182000) when replacing the drum, shoes, and hardware.
