Comments about Dorman - Help Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit - 1 Pin, 2 Bushings and 1 Clip:

I purchased 2 sets to replace both the upper and lower at the same time. As I installed the upper set the bushing cracked and fell apart. Had to just put the pin in and go to the store to get another set. That meant taking the door completely off again to put the new set of bushings in.

Comments about Dorman - Help Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit - 1 Pin, 2 Bushings and 1 Clip:

To install these correctly you actually need to replace both the upper and lower hinge pins and bushings because you actually need to support the door and pull it back away from the hinge half that bolts to the door post frame body. It's not very easy and takes two people if you dont want to damage your door. Be careful not to let it hit up against your fender as the only thing at this point connecting it is the wiring. Getting the door spring back in is incredibly difficult and curse worthy. The best thing to do is to google installing them and watch such video that has helpful hints to safe you time and money from damaging something else. Getting the bushings in and out were tough for me, but hey it is done. Google.

The only problem I had was taking out the old pins. Not a lot of room inbetween the door and frame to use a hammer. Very time consuming. Using a air hammer did the trick.

Replaced both sets in my truck this morning - Door closes like new now. Recomend buying a spring compressor with it for the door spring. Great example of how to do it on the web if you do a search for it. I didn't even have to unhook the wires.

some instructions on removing door with electric windows , mirrors , and locks would be very helpful for the do it yourselfer . I used this kit before on another truck and have been very satisfied with its performance . That truck has manual equipment in the door so the electric wiring was not an issue.

I do not believe that you need any special tools to install this part. Most of these can be taken out and installed using WD-40, a hammer, and something to prop the door up so it does not sag when the old door hinge is taken out.

You will want to have a door spring removal tool to remove and reinstall the spring for the upper bushings to clear. They are about $5 or $6 at Harbor Freight, you may also want a floor jack to take tension off the hinges and to hold the door while you do one hinge at a time.
