Comments about BWD Cruise Control Release Switch:

This works and fits the application. The only con is that it needs an adapter plug (supplied in box) to adapt to the harness of a 2001 F150 (and others). It makes for a lot of wire, but it is an acceptable replacement part.

Comments about BWD Cruise Control Release Switch:

After I had the cruise control recall done on my 02' F150, the cruise control never worked. I noticed this switch was leaking brake fluid. After cleaning the contacts, the cruise still wouldn't work and the switch connector would fill back up with brake fluid. The OEM switch isn't compatible with brake fluid.

Replaced the switch, no leaks! If your cruise won't work after this, check the harness installed as part of the recall. There will be a fuse holder with a 2 amp blade fuse. Mine was blown, replaced it and everything is great!

You will need to cut this strap when you replace the cruise control switch. Yes, this is the switch that mounts in the master cylinder. They are prone to leaking and need replaced from time to time. The first sign they need replaced (usually) is your cruise control quits working... Hope this helps.
